Timing Matters

Writer's picture: Clifton ChannellClifton Channell

Genesis 37:35 speaks of how Jacob refused to be comforted. He wanted to die and be with his son Joseph whom he believed was dead. I wonder if we don’t sometimes try to comfort someone who isn’t ready for comfort? Timing matters when it comes to comfort. The timing is based on the needs of the grieving one not the one who wants to comfort. Let’s ask God to give us guidance in knowing when and how to encourage others.
