The Acts 2:45 Ministry

In the Fellowship of the Believers in the book of Acts, we learn about how the early Christians were so supportive of each other, both physically and spiritually. The believers were one in heart and soul. “No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they owned” (Acts 4:32). “All the believers were together and had everything in common.  They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need” (Acts 2:44-45). Our fellowship will be much enriched when we can say, ‘What is mine is yours; I’ll share it!’

Goals:
The goal of the ministry is to help provide for some of the physical needs of our church family and individuals within our community. While our main goal is to provide opportunities for us to share and support each other in our physical needs, the ministry can also help us meet the needs of some individuals and families within our community and thereby provide opportunities for community evangelism.

DONATE GOODS & FOOD

  • Seasonal clothing & shoes

  • Accessories (belts, purses, etc.)

  • Health, bath, and toiletries

  • Children's toys

  • Linens, sheets, blankets, and towels

  • Food - canned items and non-perishable foods

  • Peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, canned meat and vegetables, cooking oil, rice, and evaporated milk

  • Frozen meats and fresh produce accepted during “Family Food Week”

Family Food Week
“Family Food Week” is when brethren can donate even perishable foods such as frozen meats and fresh produce in addition to the canned items and non-perishable foods accepted every day. The idea is to have in stock food items that can be used to prepare a full meal without the need to go to the grocery store to purchase additional ingredients.
The Family Food Week will be held once per quarter on the last week of March, June, September and December every year.

Current Urgent Needs
Currently we are running low on food and so we appeal for help to stock the place with non-perishable foods, especially cereals and canned foods. Summer clothing is also needed.

Regular Open Hours

  • Wednesday, 5:00 – 6:45pm.

  • Sunday, 9:30am – 12:00 noon.

  • Additional days and times can be arranged as and when needed.

Sign-In Sheets
Brethren will be requested to sign in (initials may be enough) and indicate the items taken so that we can track and replenish. For non-members or individuals within the community, we request that they provide their contact information so that we can follow up to get to know them and to help with their spiritual needs also.

Management:
The Acts 2 Ministry is currently being managed by the Oelze and Boateng families. However, brethren are requested to volunteer to help.
